Pembroke Pines, Florida, June 6, 2014: Susan Anthony Recovery Center (SBARC), a non-profit organization in Pembroke Pines, Florida has partnered with Sheridan Technical Center of Broward County Public School Systems creating an active satellite facility at SBARC’s campus.
Sheridan Technical Center has invested over $30,000.00 in new equipment (computers, monitors and software) at SBARC’s existing computer lab facilitating on site education/vocational training for women undergoing recovery. “We are delighted to partner with Susan B. Anthony, and look forward to creating opportunities and changing lives of the people they serve at the center,” says Robert Boegli, Director of Sheridan Technical Center.
“The goal of Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center is to empower women who struggle with substance abuse and face barriers including: low literacy, limited work histories, mental disorders, criminal records, physical and mental health concerns.”, says Telena Paris, Ed/Vocational Manager at SBARC. “We are committed to seeing these women succeed, to get well, become self-sufficient and realize their ultimate potential. One way for us to do that is by providing them support in building their academic and employability skills”.
